Reel 1 describes the uses of radar. Shows aerial battles between RAF Spitfires and Nazi Heinkel and Dornier bombers. Explains how radar assists antiaircraft crews, night bombing operations, the interception of fighter planes, naval gunfire, anti-submarine work, and weather predictions. Reel 2, Gen. MacArthur speaks at ceremonies marking the independence of the Philippines. Shows industrial and commercial activity in the islands. Flashbacks show the Japanese landing in the Philippines, and MacArthur's return with U.S. forces. U.S. and Filipino troops parade. Pvt. Snafu (animated cartoon) tries many branches of the services, but finally decides to return to the Infantry.

General of the Army Douglas MacArthur (26 January 1880 – 5 April 1964) was an American five-star general and Field Marshal of the Philippine Army. He was Chief of Staff of the United States Army during the 1930s and played a prominent role in the Pacific theater during World War II. He received the Medal of Honor for his service in the Philippines campaign, which made him and his father Arthur MacArthur Jr. the first father and son to be awarded the medal.
